They eat their own…II Kings 6:24-25, 28-29

They eat their own…

"And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria. And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ASS’S HEAD was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of DOVE'S DUNG for five pieces of silver. And...This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him today, and we will eat my son tomorrow. SO WE BOILED MY SON, AND DID EAT HIM: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him..." (II Kings 6:24-25, 28-29).

I am not sure if Phil Perkins has actually sent his latest post to Frank Page (Pres of the SBC) or not, but I find it interesting that he is FINALLY going to try to clean out his own house… I really doubt Phil sent this to Frank Page… so I took the liberty to send it to Him myself….

Just kidding!

What I do find interesting is that with all the attacks on myself, meanwhile Frank Page has been openly friendly to the very people Mr. Perkins hates and denies as even being brothers in Christ. I have pointed this out a few times on this blog and in letters to Yellowstone Baptist College.

I will say this about Phil…

Phil has recently spoken out against Donald Millers' last book. Phil seems to disagree with Mr. Miller as Mr. Miller expresses it is not what we believe and do that get us to heaven but what Jesus has done as is doing… our salvation depends on what Jesus did not what we do.

I have always believed that the Gospel was based on the finished works of Jesus at the cross and not on our own righteousness... yet every time I read Phil's blog he says he believe in works righteousness.... In fact he has mocked me over this on his blog!

That is heresy and anti Christian... and this man teaches at a "Christian" school.

It seems Phil Perkins is so full of hate that he will slander everyone... and anyone... and even go so far as to say Jesus did not finish the job... because if we are to believe in creeds and propositional truth to save us that pretty much excludes Jesus and all He did… It reduces the Christian Life to one trying to change their behavior to be acceptable to God. It denies the truth of Scripture in which we are told:
Romans 5: 8 – 11 But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him!
For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

When Donald Miller states "If we hold that Jesus wanted us to "believe" certain ideas or "do" certain things in order to be a Christian, we are holding to heresy."

He is saying that if we think we do these things to save ourselves... we are deceiving ourselves... Just saying a prayer does not get one saved... just believing in Jesus does not get one saved.... I refer to Scripture...

James 2:19. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder!

Acts 16: 16. Once when we were going to the place of prayer, we were met by a slave girl who had a spirit by which she predicted the future. She earned a great deal of money for her owners by fortune-telling. 17. This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting, "These men are servants of the Most High God, who are telling you the way to be saved." 18. She kept this up for many days. Finally Paul became so troubled that he turned around and said to the spirit, "In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!" At that moment the spirit left her.

So by scripture even sometimes confessing the "truth" can come from evil! Believing and works do not just let one into heaven… but a relationship with Jesus does… and every time I state that Phil has said I am wrong! He teaches that propositional truth can save us by the power of man's own reasoning… that again usurps Jesus from being a Person to being a proposition… and causes Jesus to be an impersonal god… and not a Personal God who desires to have a relationship with His creation… Phil teaches against this and this is the core of rage against me… He rages against me because I teach one must have a personal relationship with Jesus to be saved. Phil Perkins teaches a "Performance based Christianity" that believes one must believe certain things, and do works.

This simple contradicts Romans 5: 8. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
9. Since we have now been justified by his blood, how much more shall we be saved from God's wrath through him! 10. For if, when we were God's enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life! 11. Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.

I preach the ministry of reconciliation as the passage teaches and Phil calls me a heretic while he is teaching "works righteousness"…

Go figure!

Now Phil has turned his venom on his own Leader of the SBC. I see if Phil has any integrity he will leave the SBC because of his strong belief in the heresy of the Emerging Church. This also means he should leave his job at the College as I am sure they get backing from the SBC in some way.

A religious spirit is a hard one to crack... some will bunker down and instead of being broken by God... as when God sent Syria to Judge His people... instead of turning to God in the first place they hunkered down to the point that they began to eat their own...

I do not wish ill will to Mr. Perkins… I am praying for him on a daily basis that the Religious spirit that has him in bondage is broken… I pray that he is blessed immensely by the Grace and Mercy of God… so pray with me… I expect to see God move in a mighty way soon.

Blessings,
iggy
