I believe that was meant toward the church as a whole, being persecuted by the world, and not to validate specific factions of Christianity who happen to be disagreed with by other factions of Christianity.

It was told to the Jews that followed Christ...

So Jesus was talking to His followers... (the choosen ones) about "those who persecute you... and who were they?

I think if you look it was the Jewish religious leaders... so it was about factions... and those within the context were mostly all Jews.

So, unless you are saying the EC is not part of the Church as a whole...

Think about this also... maybe those who are of the divisive spirit I am talking about not listening to... are not really part of the church? For one cannot hate their brother and have the Truth/Christ in them... and these men hate in the name of Jesus.

One must remember the "Church" was started in the Abrahamic covenant... it is the Elect, and those are the ones who turn to God in Faith... the same faith of Abraham...

We are grafted onto the tree of the elect as gentiles... so the "church" is made up of all who are to be the new Jerusalem...

With that,

Blessings,
