Like I didn't already know... but look at #2!!!!!

Like I already didn't know this... But I am surprised by # 2. I bet you are also!

This could be why some of you don't get me... LOL!

You scored as Emergent/Postmodern. You are Emergent/Postmodern in your theology. You feel alienated from older forms of church, you don't think they connect to modern culture very well. No one knows the whole truth about God, and we have much to learn from each other, and so learning takes place in dialogue. Evangelism should take place in relationships rather than through crusades and altar-calls. People are interested in spirituality and want to ask questions, so the church should help them to do this.

I was Roman Catholic, followed by Wesleyan? ;)

My lowest was charismatic, which is funny (or not) since I was raised in the Vineyard. ;)

Elson,

I love you too brother... your insight is an inpsiration! God has blessed you.

Though, if you call me father... someone will think I am taking on some title... or position... which I am not... Brother is more than fine. Even Peter when others bowed before him, told them he was a mere man... I am just that, a mere man. LOL! Sometimes more mere than man!

I know you understand that...and I understand what you are really saying. I am honored and thank you for the blessing!

Blessings back to you!

Elson,
That is what surprised me about mine... I am from the Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan background... so to see fundamentalist... especially as much as they seem to hate me... seemed... well... weird!

I have a bit of a love hate relationship with Evangelical Holiness/Wesleyan as some of the theology is great... yet I see that John Wesley was a awesome preacher who was on fire for God... not bad of a heritage there... the issue I have is the holiness teaching as I see we are as holy as we are going to get as we are in Christ and depending on His Holiness. Where I see the Wesleyan theology took a bad turn is that he taught progressive holiness... or that we can get more and more holy... to the point we can be as holy as Jesus was... this seems to be more steeped in works than in faith. Like I said, we are holy because of Jesus and not our own works... for it is not our works we do, but the Fathers... just s Jesus did and this only as we depend on Jesus doing that work in and through us. I do not see that we can add anything to Jesus’ holiness, nor do I think that it is scriptural that we can add our righteousness and Holiness to Jesus’ without denying His Holiness.

With that I am also very much in the eternal security camp… and somehow not being a Calvinist… as I see that most of Calvinism cut across the teachings of Scripture. I will go into that some other time.

Wesley was a great preacher… and God used him mightily. To me it seems that this fixation on ‘making oneself more holy” was the downfall of the Wesleyan movement. and many followers would not teach or follow that just as most Calvinists do not believe in infant baptisms as Calvin taught.

It is not a bad place to be as I see that Wesley preached to the lowly and cared for them much.

Blessings,
